FMC has entrusted Baozhong Baoda with the custom production of herbicides such as mesotrione and florasulam. The collaboration between the two companies began in 1998, and after nearly a decade of rigorous evaluation and certification, FMC decided around 2007 to outsource the entire manufacturing process for three of its core herbicide active ingredients to Baozhong Baoda. Leveraging its comprehensive reaction and synthesis capabilities, combined with advanced engineering expertise, Baozhong Baoda successfully overcame critical technical challenges, seamlessly scaling up laboratory-scale processes into robust, commercially viable production pathways. Through ongoing R&D and continuous process optimization, Baozhong Baoda has not only ensured consistent product quality but also significantly reduced production costs—enabling FMC to establish strong competitive advantages in both quality and cost, while building formidable barriers to entry in the market.
